EdTech Talents Project

EdTech Talents is a European-funded Horizon Europe project that promotes innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among early-career researchers in the field of educational technology (EdTech). The core goal is to equip researchers with the competences needed to recognise opportunities, co-create solutions with stakeholders, and validate their personal and professional development in real-world contexts.

  • Project Duration: September 2022 – August 2026
  • Total Budget: €2.2 million
  • Funding Programme: Horizon Europe
  • Grant Agreement Number: 101119689

The project brings together six institutions from across Europe, offering researchers the opportunity to complete secondments in innovative companies and organisations, gain hands-on experience, and work on real challenges in the EdTech sector.

As both a host organisation and conceptual lead, blinc eG plays a pivotal role in the EdTech Talents project. Drawing on years of experience in competence-based learning and validation, blinc has developed the EdTech Mentoring Approach – a flexible, research-oriented learning journey tailored to the needs of seconded researchers and their host organisations.

Our contribution includes:

Hosting & Facilitating

  • Hosting international researchers for secondment periods in Göttingen
  • Supporting co-creative collaboration projects in the area of EdTech, digital learning, and open innovation
  • Facilitating access to networks of experts, educators, SMEs, and innovators in the region and beyond

Designing the Mentoring Model

blinc is the author and coordinator of the EdTech Mentoring Approach, which is structured in three practical and reflective phases:

  • Self-Reflection
Researchers assess their current skills, entrepreneurial potential, and personal goals using tools such as the SPIDER questionnaire and the LEVEL5 system.
  • Collaboration
Researchers co-create value with host organisations using flexible innovation strategies, including Design Thinking, Startup Incubation Models, and Adaptive Collaboration.
  • Validation
Researchers and hosts use the LEVEL5 validation system to document growth in key competences like spotting opportunities, vision, creativity, and sustainability.
