everGreen – Skills for Sustainability in Community Education
everGreen is a European Erasmus+ project (2022–2024) that addresses the urgent need to integrate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into community-based adult learning. Coordinated by BUPNET GmbH and supported by a diverse European consortium, the project develops practical tools and competence-based methods to help adult educators guide learners through the social, economic, and ecological dimensions of sustainability.
Project Duration: 01.11.2022 – 31.10.2024
- Total Duration: 24 months
- Funded by: Erasmus+ KA220 – Cooperation Partnerships in Adult Education
Total Budget: €250,000

The project responds to the climate and environmental crises by offering tailored learning formats for non-formal education settings, where sustainability is often underrepresented. everGreen provides concrete materials, strategies, and validation instruments to support trainers in fostering green competences and active citizenship within their communities.

Project Activities
The main objective of everGreen is to bring Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into the heart of adult and community education by offering a competence-based, inclusive, and transferable framework for lifelong learning. It supports trainers and community educators in:
Raising awareness about environmental and social sustainability issues.
Designing learning activities that promote sustainable thinking and acting.
Using the LEVEL5 validation approach to reflect on and assess the development of green competences.
Encouraging learners to become active change agents in their local communities.
The project promotes a hands-on, project-based approach to learning, emphasizing the local context while fostering a European-wide transferability. Special attention is given to ensuring inclusion, accessibility, and the practical application of ESD principles in non-formal learning spaces.
