Sustain-A-Wave - Make waves for change
SUSTAIN-A-WAVE is a European Erasmus+ project (2024–2026) that uses water sports as a dynamic and immersive learning environment to promote Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) among adult learners. By connecting rowing, surfing, canyoning, sailing, diving, and other water-based activities with environmental awareness, the project empowers adult education providers and water sport clubs to act as facilitators of climate-conscious behavioural change.
Project Duration: 01.11.2024 – 31.10.2026
Total Duration: 24 months
- Funded by: Erasmus+ KA210 – Small-Scale Partnerships in Adult Education

The project’s core objective is to build the capacity of staff in water sport clubs and adult education institutions to act as facilitators of ESD. These professionals will be trained to integrate sustainability topics into water sport contexts and to guide their learners toward environmentally responsible behaviour and local action. SUSTAIN-A-WAVE sees water sports not only as physical or recreational activities but also as innovative and highly motivating learning spaces—ones that can inspire real change in perception and behaviour.
